Courses
Will I be able to join the online course at any time?
Yes! You can join the course any day, week, month or year. You can complete the online course in your office, at your desk, in your bed, suited in your pajamas if you prefer. The online course is available to registrants 24/7. Upon registering online you will receive access to the online course shortly.
Will I be able to join the course without my G1?
Students can start the course without their G1, but they must have their G1 completed by the time they begin their driving lessons.
How long do I have to complete the online program?
Students will have 1 year from the date they registered to complete the BDE program. No stress!
How long does it take for me to complete the entire course/program?
The online component of the course is designed to be completed in 30 hours: 20 hours for the main program and 10 hours for the home-link program. The lessons are completed based on student availability, and an instructor will contact you to determine a schedule.
Can I start my in vehicle lessons before my online course?
Normally, the student must complete their online course prior to beginning their in vehicle lessons. However, in exceptional circumstances, the student may be able to be accommodated to take an In-Class and In-Car simultaneous program. This does not apply for E-learning or virtual students.
Road Test
When can I start my in-car lessons?
Students will have 1 year from the date they registered to complete the MTO Approved BDE program.
When can I go for my ministry approved road test?
If a student completes the Let’s Drive MTO Approved Online BDE course, they can then complete their Road Test after waiting a minimum of 8 months from date their license was issued. Otherwise, the student must wait a minimum of 1 year to complete the road test.
Who will arrange my road test?
Once a student has retained Let's Drive Ontario Driving Academy for their drivers education or road test service, we will look after their booking needs.
How do I make an appointment for my road test?
Students can call 1-888-570-6110, log on to www.drivetest.ca, or the Let's Drive office can book the test for them as well: 416-538-7123.
Are course driving lessons enough?
10 Lessons are the minimum requirement by the MTO, however each student’s learning ability may vary. Many students are ready to graduate within the 10 lesson requirement. However, there are some students who do not feel confident enough after 10 lessons and may require more, and Let’s Drive does provide special packages for already enrolled students.
What type of vehicle do you provide for your in-car lessons?
Let’s Drive provides clean, reliable and certified automatic mid size cars for student in-car lessons.
MTO and Fees
Do you provide insurance discount certificates?
The online BDE course is MTO approved, and upon successful completion of the course the student would become eligible for an insurance discount certificate.
What happens if I lose my insurance certificate?
Students can order a replacement copy at Service Ontario for a charge of $12 + HST admin fee (fee subject to change).
How do I get my insurance certificate?
Upon successful completion of the full BDE course, students become eligible for an insurance discount certificate. Once students have confirmed with their instructor that they are processed in the ministry system, they may visit any Service Ontario to receive their certificate for a $12 + HST admin fee (fee subject to change).
How much money will I save on insurance costs?
Students may save up to 40%, but this may vary with each insurance company, car, make, model, age, demography and other various factors.
